Big news for the studio---after more than a year o

Big news for the studio---after more than a year of anticipation (and not a little anxiety), I've finally moved to a new location within the Shirt Factory Complex in Glens Falls NY. It's the first time that my studio has all its equipment in one place, and not in my house. I've got 1500 square feet of light industrial space at 182 Maple St, Unit B. It's the old Higgins Candy location, directly across the parking lot from Rock Hill Bakery. My landlord Eric Unkauf has done a fabulous job of renovating the space for me. The Shirt Factory maintenance guys have been great from cutting the door, and installing a recycled front door, to lots of lights, and electrical outlets, to a dedicated compressor space and good concrete floors. It's a long term dream and I can't believe it's come to pass. I've got all my looms in place (though still putting them back together after the move), and a few more coming in May. I'll be back into production in another week, though there will be a short break in June for knee replacement (another long time coming sort of thing). I'm so excited to be finally able to bring all my resources together in producing some fabulous cloth out of our fantastic NE wool, alpaca and hemp fibers. There is a bit of a road ahead to getting it all up and going, but I can't help but be joyous about my new space. Drop by and see me. I'm not there quite full time yet but most days. I've already had my first customer in the studio, picking up her gorgeous California Red wool blankets and throws. They were the last project completed at my old studio on the power loom, and the first to be delivered through the new. It was amazing to show Eileen around and talk about possibilities!

Also offering a 40 inch, 8 harness Macomber loom-- serial number 6741, model B5. It's in good shape and fully functional but been unused for several years now. Everything moves smoothly on it. It is missing the crank for the cloth beam and foot bar is not original but completely serviceable. Comes with 2 reeds...10 and 15 dpi, plus 2 steel rods for tying on. Located area code 12804, Glens Falls NY area. Can access loading dock for pick up. Asking $1100.

Making space for new equipment! I'm selling a large warping reel, 3 yard diameter, stands 68 in tall, 52 inches across and 30 inches deep; folds to 24 inches deep. Excellent condition and spins easily...I've used it for everything from 2 yards to 80 yards. No makers name plate but high quality hardwood. Available immediately with access to loading dock. 400.00.

It's quite hard to take a good picture of something that is mostly empty space 🙄

Busy and happy Monday...weaving on a set on long panels in CVM wool for a private customer; experimenting with a stitched look pattern in studio #romney #merino yarns for wraps to retail at @mdsheepwoolfest ; taking in some gorgeous #borderleicester wool for @carriechalmersdesign to go into sewing yardage for outer garments; and my amaryllis fell over but also burst into bloom! Such is life...a tremendous, and quite successful effort yet... still a bit of a prat fall.
